Working with Injuries
Seeing the weight-loss and fitness benefits my husband had gained from working with Dave, I decided to sign up for personal training sessions too. I had been suffering from a long-term shoulder injury and was desperate to return to full fitness but anxious about re-injuring my shoulder. In our initial consultation, Dave assessed the extent of my shoulder and any prior injuries, listened to my fitness goals and designed a fantastic programme that had me back to full fitness very quickly. I have been working with Dave for almost a year now and he constantly adapts my exercise programme so I continue to progress in terms of cardio-vascular fitness and body tone. Also, I really enjoy my sessions in the gym with Dave; he somehow manages to push me to reach new levels of achievement and make it fun at the same time.

I was looking for a helping hand with my training whilst recovering from an ongoing shoulder problem. My motivation was low, as my fitness has dropped over the last six months. A friend, who had achieved huge gains in his fitness after a knee operation, recommended Dave to me. After a number of fitness tests, we got straight into improving my aerobic fitness and muscle tone whilst continually building my previously injured shoulder. My fitness and muscle tone is better than it ever was before, and my shoulder now gives me no problems whatsoever.

I have trained with Dave Fletcher since March 2005. I had just damaged by back again while skiing as well as tearing a small muscle in the connected areas to my back. After going through physiotherapy, etc, it was clear that I needed to improve my physical fitness as well as my strength, and in particular my core strength. I met with Dave at my local health club and we devised a plan to address these issues. This also included learning boxing and kick boxing which I have found to me extremely rewarding. I have worked out with Dave 2-3 times on average per week since then. In combination with this, I have also changed my dietary habits and lost 10 pounds. My workouts with Dave vary from boxing, kickboxing, running, weights, stretching and core strength. I have found Dave to be extremely knowledgeable, great to work with and with nothing but the most positive of attitudes. I would (and have) recommended him to people.

I met Dave two years ago. I was three stone overweight with high blood pressure and low self-esteem. Prior to training with Dave, my motivation to exercise was very low. His enthusiasm and knowledge over the last two years has completely changed my attitude towards exercise and made it possible for me to lose three stone. I use the gym three times a week. Two of the sessions are with Dave, whilst the other one, I do on my own. He guides me step by step through all of the exercises and offers detailed guidance via email for the session I do on my own. I advise anyone who is serious about changing the way they feel to participate in personal training.

Kickboxing Training
I have been training with Dave for several months now working on speed and power in my punching and kicking. Working rounds has proved to be one of the toughest exercise regimes I've ever tried and so it has provided a focus for the rest of my fitness and strength training. Dave has a very good grasp on how hard to push, so rounds tend to finish between the point where I want to stop and the point where I have to stop. I am pleased with the progress I have made. My punching has improved a lot and I am now able to pull off some long combinations which would have given me a lot of trouble before. Dave has also spent a lot of time working on my core strength through a lot of abdominal work. This has helped greatly making my whole body stronger both for punching and kicking. I thoroughly recommend this type of training as it is not only great fun, it is a fantastic way to achieve your fitness goals.
